Finance, Information Services and Public Library. The City

May I apply for more than one position with the same
application?
Yes, there
is a space on the application for you to list up to two
positions that are currently open and you qualify for.
Why was my
application not considered?
Once
received, all applications will be reviewed for completeness
and to ensure that an applicant meets the minimum
qualifications of the position that they are applying for.
Incomplete applications along with applicants who do not
meet the minimum qualifications will not be forwarded for
review.
If your application was complete and you did meet
the minimum qualifications the hiring manager will contact
you directly if you are selected to continue the hiring
process. However not all qualified candidates will be
contacted.
How do I
know if I qualify for a position?
The
qualifications for each position are listed in “Minimum
Qualifications” section of the job listing. You must meet
all of the qualifications of the position for which you are
applying.
May I send my
resume?
A resume is
not an acceptable form of application. However, you may
attach your resume to your application for the hiring
manager to view. Keep in mind that if you attach your
resume in lieu of filling out your application, this will be
considered an “incomplete” application and may not be
forwarded.
Once I have submitted my application, when will I be
contacted?
Once the
application is received by the Human Resources department,
it will be reviewed for completeness and meeting the minimum
qualifications. If these items are met, it will be
forwarded to the hiring manager for review. The hiring
manager has to opportunity to contact you to schedule an
interview. However not all qualified candidates will be
contacted.
How
can I check the status of my application?
You may
contact Human Resources at 281-592-2667 and we can tell you
what day your application was sent to the hiring manager and
if the position is filled or not.
What is the effective date of my insurance coverage should I
become employed by the City of Cleveland?
1st
of the month following your hire date.
Do you
offer dependent insurance coverage?
Yes, the
City offers dependent insurance coverage, the employee is
responsible for paying 35% of the medical premiums and the
City pays 65% of the medical premium. This is current as of
2009/2010 fiscal year.
Do you drug
screen your applicants?
If you are
offered a position with the City of Cleveland, you must take
and pass both a physical and drug screen test.
