1. Do you accept credit cards for payment?

Yes, we accept Visa and Mastercard only. There is a $2.50 fee on all credit card transactions.

2. Can I download the residential or commerical application for service?

Yes, you can download the PDF file, fill it out and bring it with you when you come into the Water department to set up service.

3. What are the residential garbage days?

Thursdays. However, on the LAST THURSDAY of the month we have Bulk/Heavy Trash Collection. (Click the link to find more information.) 

4. What time does my residential garbage have to be out to be picked up?

Garbage has to be out by 7:00 a.m. to be picked up. Waste Management runs until 7:00 p.m. the day of trash collection. Call the Water Department at 281-592-2669 if your garbage is not picked up and it was out by the time required.

5. How much is garbage service for my house?

You will pay a monthly flat fee of $12.17 that is included on your water bill.

6. I am opening a business in Cleveland who do I contact for garbage?

You will need to contact Waste Management directly for commercial garbage service. Their customer service phone number is 1-800-809-4885.

7. Can I set up monthly autopay on my bill?

Yes you can download the Electronic Authorization Form from our website or pick one up in the Water Office at 907 E. Houston.

8. I have family gatherings at my home sometimes and could have extra trash, how do I get rid of it?

You can purchase Extra Household Service Stickers. City Hall will have them at the Utility Department Counter for $1.50 per sticker. 

1-sticker for 1 bag of household trash.

9. I have a large family and we always have extra trash?

You can order an extra cart for a fee, please contact City Hall Utility Department to have it added to your account.

10. Can my yard waste go into the cart?

Yes. Please put all household and yard waste in the cart each week.  You can also put yard waste out under the Bulk/Heavy Trash service. (Once per Month on the Last Thursday of the month).

11. What if I have some bundled limbs. How can I get rid of those?

You can put the limbs out with the Heavy/Bulk trash pickup at the end of each month. You get twelve (12) items per month.

IMPORTANT! For the safety and protection of Waste Management employees and equipment, we do require that branches and tree trimmings be no greater than three inches (3") in diameter and be cut, tied and bundled in four-foot (4') lengths weighing no more than forty to fifty pounds (40-50lbs.)

12. The Waste Management cart wheel has come off. What do I do?

Please report it to City Hall Utility Department and they will get a repair order into Waste Management, it will be repaired or replaced.

13. The cart has a bad odor. How do I clean it?

You can wash it out with your water hose and a little household soap.

14. How do I get rid of existing garbage cans if I no longer need or want them?

You can put them out on the monthly Bulk/Heavy Trash pickup or reuse them for other purposes, (ex: Potting soil, long handled yard tools, etc.)
